Rethink Yourself

Hey DirectTV: You're a satellite TV provider. You need to stop with this "Rethink TV" nonsense. Of everyone involved in the television process, you are the least innovative. You do not create the content, you do not package the content, you do not make the viewing of the content possible, you do not enjoy the content. You are a glorified lead pipe, without even the usefulness of being an actual lead pipe, which at the very least is good for thwacking people and eventually bestowing cancer upon them.

If I see your sappy Carousel of Progress nonsense one more time, I will rig up a laser pointer, my rubber band, three paper clips, and a Batman action figure to shoot down all of your satellites and then we'll see who rethinks TV.

Saw a blurb on CNN this morning about the 22-lb. lobster. Each time they mentioned his age, they said he was 100-years-old.

Which means they did absolutely no research, because the only people estimating he's 100 are those that stand to profit from him being 100. Biologists estimated 30-50-years-old.

This isn't a huge deal, but it's indicative of the larger issue of many a media taking things at face value with no follow up. Simply stating his age as 100 because someone said so, that someone having a direct interest is his age being greater whilst having no clue about biology is sort of like Coca-Cola estimating that Diet Coke tastes "awesome".

If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right.
